History

The first Joe Nuxhall Golf Outing was held in 1985 with the proceeds benefitting the March of Dimes and Special Olympics. Success for the early outings was due to the sponsorship from Dickerson Distributing and Montgomery Inn. Today, Ohio Eagle (formerly Dickerson Distributing), Montgomery Inn, JTM and Bob Ernst generously support the outing in sustaining Joe’s legacy. The outing is held at the Hamilton Elks Golf Club. In 1988 the proceeds from the golf outing supported the newly founded Joe Nuxhall Scholarship fund. The Scholarship Fund has grown from its inception to provide annually $2,000 in scholarships to each of the fourteen public and private high schools in Butler County (Badin, Cincinnati Christian Schools, Edgewood, Fairfield, Fenwick, Hamilton, Lakota East, Lakota West, Madison, Middletown, Monroe, New Miami, Ross, Talawanda). To date $756,000 in scholarships has been distributed to students in Butler County.
